Ramadan Campaign: Afghanistan

This Ramadan, we are delivering direct food assistance and hot iftar meals to families facing acute food insecurity in Kunar, Nangarhar, Paktia, Paktika, and Khost.

Afghanistan’s economic collapse and ongoing sanctions have eliminated income for millions of households. In eastern provinces, many families survive day-to-day without savings, government support, or consistent humanitarian coverage. Food exists in markets, but families cannot afford it. Eastern Afghanistan is consistently hit by natural disasters, border attacks, along with an influx of Afghan returnees arriving from Pakistan.

This campaign focuses on immediate, practical support.

What We’re Doing

  • Distributing Ramadan food packages to families identified through our network

  • Hosting community iftars in villages and displacement-affected areas

  • Prioritizing widows, displaced families, daily wage workers, and households with no stable income

What a Donation Provides

  • $85 supplies one family with a full Ramadan food package including:

    • Rice, flour, lentils, beans, macaroni

    • Cooking oil, tea, and sugar

    • Shampoo and soap

  • $2.29 provides one hot iftar meal, prepared and served locally

How We’re Doing It

  • Food is sourced locally to reduce cost and support local markets

  • Distributions are organized through our aid team, allowing us to reach families often missed by large aid organizations

  • Iftar meals are prepared and served on the ground, by local workers to support and give back to communities.

Our $50,000 goal allows us to scale this work across multiple provinces throughout Ramadan—getting food directly into homes and onto plates, without delays or intermediaries.

People in these communities are relying on small, operational organizations like ours to meet immediate needs. This campaign is about fast delivery, clear impact, and making sure families are able to break their fast with food, not uncertainty.
