Kalaam Educational Center
The Kalaam Educational Center will serve as a comprehensive learning hub based in Kabul, with the capacity to reach students across Afghanistan. The Center will provide free, accessible education and skills training designed to promote economic independence, long-term stability, and community resilience.
The Center will offer technical and vocational training programs in high-demand skills such as electrical work, sewing, embroidery, and tailoring. These courses will equip participants with practical, income-generating skills, enabling graduates to start small businesses, secure employment, or contribute to household income, particularly in communities with limited economic opportunities.
In addition to vocational training, Kalaam will provide free academic instruction in foundational and advanced subjects, including Reading, Writing, Computer Literacy, STEM, and Algebra/Mathematics. These courses will strengthen literacy, numeracy, and digital skills, ensuring students are better prepared for higher education, remote work opportunities, and evolving labor markets.
To maximize access, the Center will offer virtual learning options for students who are unable to attend in person due to geographic, security, or mobility barriers. Hybrid programming will allow learners across provinces to benefit from Kalaam’s curriculum while maintaining continuity of education during periods of instability.
The Kalaam Educational Center will also emphasize women’s and girls’ education, creating safe and supportive learning environments that respect cultural norms while expanding access to knowledge and economic participation. Instruction will be delivered by qualified educators and practitioners, with curricula adapted to community needs and local market demands.
Beyond instruction, the Center will provide mentorship, small-grant opportunities, and startup guidance to support graduates in launching microenterprises or continuing their education. Kalaam will work with local partners to connect students with resources, materials, and markets, ensuring that training translates into tangible outcomes.
Through this integrated educational model, The Kalaam Project continues its commitment to empowering Afghans by providing the opportunities, funding, and tools necessary to pursue stability, self-reliance, and dignity, fostering sustainable change at both the individual and community levels.
